International Students Won the Second Prize in 2023 Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition National Finals

  On July 20, the results of 2023 (16th) Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition Shanghai Final and international students' category Learn Chinese, Write Chinese characters national competition were announced. The Team Meng composed of three NJUPT international students Aminul, Shawon, and Atia (Bangladeshi) won the second prize of the national finals for the project Guwen-UnilM: Machine Translation of Ancient Modern Chinese Based on Pre-trained Model. The Dream in Meng Team composed of another three international students Ashraful, Sagor, and Badsha (Bangladeshi) won the third prize at the national finals for the project HAN YI MA -Efficient Chinese Input Method .

  Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition for undergraduate students is certified by the Ministry of Education of China.  It aims to improve college students’ computer skills and comprehensive quality, and promote learning, teaching and innovation through competition. The Competition is divided into 11 categories, and 6 national finals are held in Shanghai, Jinan, Shenyang, Nanjing, Xiamen and Hangzhou. The competition is conducted by online defense.

  Under the professional guidance of instructors Chen Kejia, Wu Xiaohai, Liu Shangdong and Ji Yimu, the two international students’ teams passed through the competition at the university level in April and the provincial level in May and won the qualification for the national competition. In the national finals in July, all the international students used fluent Chinese to demonstrate innovative Chinese learning projects and the application in the International Chinese Language Education. During the past four months, all the participants have been diligent in exploration and brave in making breakthrough under the guidance of all the tutors, and have once again polished the shining card of no innovation, not NJUPT.
